This is when you are separated from someone or something.

Jim Crow Laws

Laws that forced segregation on black Americans.

This means you have to pay to vote, unfair for African Americans.

Literacy Test

A test that you would take to prove you know how to read. Mostly taken by African Americans.

Accommodation

People should focus on economic success, rather than racial equality.

Yellow journalism

When newspaper writers would tell exaggerated stories, that were false to mold the public.

Prohibition Amendment,

19th Amendment

The amendment that gave women the right to vote.

Dust bowl

Caused a drought in Great Plains, windstorms buried farms in dirt.

Keynesian Economics

The idea government should spend more money to create more government programs, to get out of the Great Depression.

Far right, including groups like klu klux klan.

This occurred in October 1929, when people panicked and sold their stocks.

A speech and idea given by Churchill saying there is a big curtain or barrier splitting most if Europe.
