holmes example
Abelino(a triqui migrant worker) told Holmes that his headaches were so excruciating that he could not sleep. Because he lacked health insurance, feared deportation, and found that over-the-counter pain relievers did nothing, he turned to alcohol as a desperate form of self-medication. He famously noted that he had to drink 22 beers just to numb the pain enough to lose consciousness and get some rest before starting work the next morning.
