Where are each of these hormones (TRH, TSH, & TH) released from, & what does each hormone do?

hypothalamus = TRH → Anterior Pituitary = TSH → Thyroid Gland = T₃ + T₄

TRH: stimulates pituitary gland & release TSH

TSH: controls thyroid activity

T₃ + T₄: regulate metabolism, HR, & body temp

What changes would you expect to see in a rat that lacks a thyroid gland?

T3 + T4

decrease BMR

What changes would you expect to see in a rat that lacks a pituitary gland?

TSH + T3 + T4

decrease BMR

What does thyroxine do?

increase BMR

What does glucagon & insulin do, & what causes them to be released?

Glucagon → increase blood glucose

Insulin → decrease blood glucose

diabetes <126 → glucose standard curve

Where are CRH, ACTH, & Cortisol released from, & what does each hormone do
