Purpose of GAG 2-7
To provide a clean air work environment in all Kansas City, Missouri Fire Department facilities and vehicles.
Scope of GAG 2-7
Applies to all Fire Department Facilities and vehicles, and all personnel.
Facility Designated Smoking Area
Areas officially designated "SMOKING PERMITTED" on the apparatus bay floor.
Smoking Distance Restrictions
Generally, smoking will not be permitted within 50' from a doorway to living space or 50' from air handling equipment.
Vehicle Smoking Policy
Smoking is prohibited in all KCFD vehicles of which multiple personnel are assigned and where they are carrying passengers.
Policy Enforcement Responsibility
It is the responsibility of all fire officers to enforce the clean air work environment policy.
Facility Signage Requirements
"NO SMOKING" signs displayed at the entrance to all FD facilities, and "SMOKING PERMITTED" signs displayed where smoking is permitted.
Employee Health Advocate
The contact person for members seeking information on the KCFD Smoking Cessation Program.
Responsible Committee
HWS (Health and Wellness Subcommittee / Committee responsible for GAG 2-7).
