What happens when there is low substrate concentration

We have low frequency of collisions between substrate and active site, so rate of reaction is low.

What is rate of reaction to substrate concentration

Directly proportional, ie if substrate concentration doubles, so does rate of reaction, up until certain point.

every active site will be colliding with substrate, so if more substrates are added, there is no free active sites for extra substrate molecules to collide with

So increase in substrate concentration wont increase rate of reaction any further

This means enzyme is saturated

What is rate of reaction to enzyme concentration

Directly proportional , as long as there is more substrate than enzyme

If substrate becomes limited, then increasing enzyme concentration will no longer increase rate

There will not be enough substrate molecules, to collide with all the available active sites
