مَكَّةُ المُكَرَّمَةُ, Mecca / the Honoured City

المَسجِدُ الحَرَامُ, the Sacred Mosque / the Grand Mosque

المَدِينَةُ المُنَوَّرَةُ, Medina / the Illuminated City

حَجَّ, to perform the pilgrimage (hajj)

اِعتَمَرَ, to perform the lesser pilgrimage (umrah)

أُصَلِّي, I pray

مَاءُ زَمزَمِ, Zamzam water

صَلَّى اللهُ عَلِيهِ وَسَلَّمَ, peace be upon him (PBUH)

آمِينَ, amen

يَمكُثُ, he stays / he remains

العَمَلُ, work / labour

وَفَّقَكَ اللَّهُ, may Allah guide you / God bless you

الوِلَادَةُ, birth

العِبَادَةُ, worship

الأَجرُ, reward

لَدَيَّ خَبَرٌ طَيِّبٌ., I have good news.

سَأَذهَبُ إِلَى مَكَّةَ السَّنَةَ القَادِمَةَ., I will go to Mecca next year.

هَل سَتَذهَبُ لِلعَمَلِ؟, Will you go to work?

كَم سَنَةً سَتَمكُثُ هُنَاكَ؟, How many years will you stay there?

سَأُصَلِّي فِي المَسجِدِ الحَرَامِ كَثِيراً., I will pray in the Sacred Mosque often.

هَل سَتَزُورُ المَدِينَةَ المُنَوَّرَةَ؟, Will you visit Medina?

رَجَعتُ سَالِماً., I returned safely.

العِبَادَةُ فِي مَكَّةَ أَكثَرُ أَجراً مِن غَيرِهَا., Worship in Mecca brings greater reward than elsewhere.

الطَّوَافُ, circumambulation / circling (around the Kaaba)

حَوْلَ, around

الْكَعْبَةِ, the Kaaba

يَلْبَسُ, he wears

الْإِحْرَامُ, sacred state / pilgrimage garb

شَوْطٌ, round / circuit

قَصَّرَ, to shorten

شَعْرَ, hair

شَيْخٌ, elder / old man

السَّعْيُ, walking quickly / striding (between Safa and Marwa)

يَغْتَسِلُ, he washes / he bathes

حَلَقَ, to shave

لَا تَنْسَنِ مِنَ الدُّعَاءِ, don't forget to pray / supplicate

أَحْرَمَ, to enter the sacred state

رُكْنُ, pillar / essential part

الْمِيقَاتُ, pilgrimage boundary / sacred boundary

أُؤَدِّي, I perform

مُنَاسِكُ, rites / rituals

الْعُمْرَةُ, the lesser pilgrimage (umrah)

الْحَرَمُ, the sacred precinct

أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَعْتَمِرَ., I want to perform the umrah.

مَا أَرْكَانُ الْعُمْرَةِ؟, What are the pillars/essentials of umrah?

اِغْتَسِلْ وَالْبَسْ مَلَابِسَ الْإِحْرَامِ., Wash and put on the pilgrimage garb.

اِذْهَبْ إِلَى الْمِيقَاتِ., Go to the sacred boundary.

أَذْهَبُ إِلَى الْمِيقَاتِ., I am going to the sacred boundary.

طُفْ حَوْلَ الْكَعْبَةِ سَبْعَةَ أَشْوَاطٍ., Circumambulate the Kaaba seven times.

أَطُوفُ حَوْلَ الْكَعْبَةِ., I am circumambulating the Kaaba.

اِسْعَ بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ سَبْعَةَ أَشْوَاطٍ., Walk quickly between Safa and Marwa seven times.

أَسْعَى بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ., I am walking quickly between Safa and Marwa.

اِحْلِقْ شَعْرَكَ أَوْ قَصِّرهُ., Shave or shorten your hair.

أُقَصِّرُ شَعْرِي., I am shortening my hair.

لَا تَنْسَنِ مِنَ الدُّعَاءِ., Don't forget to supplicate / Don't forget to pray.

غَارِ حِرَاءٍ, Cave of Hira

عَرَفَاتٍ, Mount Arafat

رَمْيُ الْجَمَرَاتِ, the stoning of the pillars

جَبَلِ ثَوْرٍ, Mount Thawr

مَصْنَعُ, factory

كِسْوَةِ الْكَعْبَةِ, the Kaaba's covering / draping of the Kaaba

مَتْحَفُ الْحَرَمَيْنِ, museum of the two holy sanctuaries

مِنًى, Mina (a place during pilgrimage)

مُزْدَلِفَةُ, Muzdalifah (a place during pilgrimage)

مَسْجِدَ الْخَيْفِ, the Khayf mosque

نَزَلَتْ, she descended / she came down

اِخْتَبَأَ, to hide

المَشَاعِرُ, the sacred sites / holy places

مَسْجِدُ نَمِرَةَ, Namirah mosque

المَشْعَرُ, the sacred site / holy place

مَعَالِمُ, landmarks / monuments

الْهِجْرَةُ, the migration (the Prophet's hijra to Medina)

أَيُّ خِدْمَةٍ؟, Which service?

هَلْ لَدَيْكُمْ رِحْلَةٌ إِلَى مَعَالِمِ مَكَّةَ؟, Do you have a tour to the landmarks of Mecca?

لَدَيْنَا رِحْلَتَانِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ., We have two tours every day.

الْأُولَى بَعْدَ صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ., The first one is after the dawn prayer.

إِلَى أَيْنَ تَذْهَبُ الْأُولَى؟, Where does the first one go?

تَذْهَبُ إِلَى مُتْحَفِ الْحَرَمَيْنِ., It goes to the museum of the two holy sanctuaries.

هَلْ سَنَرَى مَسْجِدَ الْخَيْفِ؟, Will we see the Khayf mosque?

نَعَمْ، وَسَتَرَوْنَ الْمَشَاعِرَ الْمُقَدَّسَةَ., Yes, and you will see the sacred sites.

الَّذِي اِخْتَبَأَ فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ., Where the Prophet (PBUH) hid.

الْمَبَانِيَ, buildings

صَلَّى, to pray

تَوْسِعَةَ الْحَرَمِ, the expansion of the sacred precinct

الشَّوَارِعَ, streets

حَدِيثَةً, modern / recent

بِنَاءُ, construction / building

الْأَنْفَاقَ, tunnels

عَظِيمٌ, great / mighty

تَجَوُّلٌ, strolling / walking around

مُوَاصَلَاتٌ عَامَّةٌ, public transport

تَتَنَقَّلُ, she moves / she travels

نَعَمْ، يَا أَبِي., Yes, father.

شَرِبْتُ مِنْ مَاءِ زَمْزَمَ., I drank from Zamzam water.

وَجَدْتُهَا مَدِينَةً حَدِيثَةً., I found it to be a modern city.

مَاذَا شَاهَدْتَ فِيهَا؟, What did you see in it?

شَاهَدْتُ الْمَبَانِيَ الْعَالِيَةَ., I saw the tall buildings.

كَيْفَ تَتَنَقَّلُ فِيهَا؟, How do you move around in it?

بِالْمُوَاصَلَاتِ الْعَامَّةِ., By public transport.

لَقَدْ أَدَّيْتُ الْعُمْرَةَ., I have performed the umrah.
