Revised Aggression Theory
Frustration about unjust/unfair actions leads to anger and aggression cues, which create aggression
Ex: Frustration = your team loses
Unfairness = bad call by the ref
Cue = bat next to you
Aggression = smashing the TV
Racism
An individual’s prejudicial attributions and discriminatory behavior towards a given race
Prejudices
Preconceived judgments of a group and its individual members (negative attitude toward a group)
Ex: Women shouldn’t hold leadership positions
Discrimination
Unjustified negative behavior toward a group or its members
Stereotypes
Generalized beliefs about the personal attributions of a group of people (generalized beliefs about a group)

The tendency for one's personal intimacy of self-disclosure to match that of a conservative partner

Just World Phenomenon
The tendency of people to believe the world is just, and therefore people get what they deserve and deserve what they get

Reciprocity Norms
An expectation that people will help, not hurt, those who have helped them
Social Responsibility Norm
An expectation that people will help those in need
Genuine Altruism
The unselfish concern for the welfare of others, characterized by actions that benefit others, often at a personal cost

Adult Attachment Styles
Infant attachment styles lay the foundation for future relationships
