Upright/Erect
Standing up position.
Lateral
Position on the side, typically at a 90-degree angle.
Oblique
Position between 0-90 degrees.
Recumbent
Laying down position.
Prone
Position with the belly down toward the box.
Supine
Position with the belly up facing the tube; flat.
Trendelenburg
Position where the head is below the feet.
Fowlers
Reverse Trendelenburg position; feet lower than the head.
Lithotomy
Position involving stirrups.
Sims
Lateral position with one leg elevated.
Decubitus
Laying down position with two rules; CR must be horizontal.
LPO
Left posterior oblique position.
LAO
Left anterior oblique position.
RPO
Right posterior oblique position.
RAO
Right anterior oblique position.
Left lateral decubitus (LLD)
Laying on the left side.
Right lateral decubitus (RLD)
