RT Position- Positions

Upright/Erect→ standing up

  • facing box (upright buckey)

  • facing tube (back against box)

  • lateral (on side) → 90 degrees

  • oblique → between 0-90 degrees

Recumbent→ laying down

  • prone (belly down toward box)

  • supine (belly up facing tube) → FLAT

  • lateral → 90 degrees

  • oblique → 45 degrees

Types of Oblique Positions

  • Trendelenburg (head below feet)

  • Fowlers (reverse trendelenburg) → feet lower than head

  • Lithotomy (stirrups)

  • Sims → lateral with one leg up

  • Decubitus → 2 rules

    1. laying down (recumbent)

    2. CR has to be horizontal

Oblique

  • LPO (left posterior oblique)

  • LAO (left anterior oblique)

  • RPO (right posterior oblique)

  • RAO (right anterior oblique)

*depends on what side is touching table*can be erect or recumbent*

Decubitus

  • left lateral decubitus (LLD)

  • right lateral decubitus (RLD)

  • ventral decubitus

  • dorsal decubitus
