What is Law of Dominance
A Dominant Allele will express itself over a Recessive
What is Law of Segregation
When Chromosomes separate each cell will only get 1
What is Law of Independent assortment
Assortment of Chromosomes of one trait dosen’t affect those of another
What is Incomplete Dominance
The phenotype is in-between the two (HH+H’H’=HH’ or Curly+Straight=Wavy)
What is Codominance
Both Traits are expressed fully (BB+WW=BW)
What is Polygenic Inheritance
A Trait is produced by 2 or more Genes, Epistasis can occur (AaBBCc)
What are Linked Genes
Genes that are physically located on the same Chromosome (Ph/pH)
What are S*x-Linked Genes
Genes on S*x Chromosomes (XR+Xr=XRXr or No Hempohilia+Hemophilia=No Hemophilia)
What are 2 types of Mutations
Somatic, & Germ Line
What are 2 types of Gene Mutations
Point (Substitutes one for another), & Frameshift (Deletion of one)
What are 3 types of Chromosome Mutations
Duplication (Changes size), Translocation (Exchanges segments), & Nondisjunction (Chromosomes do not separate correctly)
What is a Autosomal Recessive Pedigree
Disease is rare, =Gender, Skips Generations
What is a Autosomal Dominant Pedigree
Disease is common, =Gender, Never skips Generations
What is Sex-Linked Reccesive Pedigree
Disease is rare, +Man, Skips Generations
