Power Analysis
A statistical technique used to determine the sample size required for an experiment to detect an effect of a given size.
p-value
The probability of obtaining the observed results of a test, assuming that the null hypothesis is true.
Statistical Power
The probability that a statistical test will correctly reject the null hypothesis when it is false.
Sample Size
The number of subjects involved in an experiment or study, which impacts the power and reliability of the results.
Counterbalanced Design
A method used in experiments where participants are assigned to different groups in such a way that each condition is equally represented.
Visual Search Task
An experimental task where participants must search for and identify specific targets within a visual display.
Significant Difference
A difference between groups that is unlikely to have occurred by chance, often measured by a p-value threshold.
Experiment
A procedure carried out to support, refute, or validate a hypothesis, often involving controlled conditions.
