Types of accommodation

1. Hotel

Provides accommodation to travelling public, has a reception area, offers at least a breakfast room or communal eating area

2. Lodge

Formal accommodation facility providing full or limited service, located in natural surroundings beyond that of an immediate garden area, without any game

3. Guest house

Existing home or purpose-designed building, commercial enterprise, provides overnight accommodation with public areas for exclusive use of guests (family does NOT share)

4. Bed and Breakfast (B&B)

Family (private) home where manager/owner lives on the property, provides accommodation (with or without en suite bathroom) and breakfast (family shares spaces)

5. Self-catering

House, cottage, chalet, bungalow, flat, studio, apartment, villa, houseboat, tent or any accommodation where facilities and equipment are provided for guests to cater for themselves

6. Backpacker and hostel

Accommodation establishment that provides communal facilities, including dormitories, for transient guests

7. Caravan and camping park

Facility that provides ablution and toilet amenities and space for guests to provide their own accommodation (tent, motor home, or caravan)
