DIrect Democracy

A democracy in which the people themselves determine the laws and policies by which they are governed

Republic

A government in which supreme power rests with the people, but exercised by elected officials

Monarchy

A government in which political power is exercised by a single ruler such as a kingdom, who acquired their position through inheritance

Dictatorship

A system of rule in which one person holds unlimited power over government taken/controlled by force

Oligarchy

Rule by a small elite group of people usually members of the military or the economic elite

Anarchy

No one is recognized as governmental authority

Theocracy

A government in which the government is ruled by religious leaders who represent god, conducted according to religious principles and requirements.

Facism

A political system based on a very powerful leader, state control and being extremely proud of the country and or race in which political opposition is not allowed

Colonialism

The policy or practice of acquiring full or partial political control over another country occupying it with settlers and exploiting it economically
