Theorem

A statement that has been proven based on previously established statements and generally accepted statements, such as axioms.

Congruent Supplements Theorem

If two angles are supplements of the same angle (or congruent angles), then the two angles are congruent.

Angle Bisector Theorem

States that if a point lies on the angle bisector of an angle, then it is equidistant from the sides of the angle.

Parallel Line

Lines in a plane that never meet or intersect, regardless of how far they are extended.

Alternate Interior Angles

Angles that lie on opposite sides of a transversal and between two parallel lines; they are congruent if the lines are parallel.

Same Side Interior Angles

Angles that lie on the same side of a transversal and between two parallel lines; they are supplementary.

Alternate Exterior Angles

Angles that lie on opposite sides of a transversal and outside two parallel lines; they are congruent if the lines are parallel.

Corresponding Angles

Angles that lie on the same side of the transversal and in corresponding positions relative to the parallel lines; they are congruent if the lines are parallel.
