model that is conceptualized as bringing together groups or individuals of different cultural backgrounds with the goal of producing positive change

to respect and empower underserved culturally or ethnically diverse groups or individuals

problem identification (recognize the problem)
intervention phase (identify strategies, establish trust and support)
outcome (assess the degree to which the problem has been resolved)
High-Context Cultures
cultures in which individuals are deeply involved with each other and information is shared both verbally and nonverbally to understand the expectations of the environment (based on relationships, trust, and empathy)
Low-Context Cultures
cultures that are focused on verbal language and what is explicitly stated, rather than nonverbals and environmental cues that add meaning (reaching the end product quickly, disregarding relationship building)
