Blood Sugar
The amount of dissolved glucose in our blood stream.
Hypoglycaemia
A condition of having a blood glucose level that is too low.
Hyperglycaemia
A condition of having a blood glucose level that is too high.
Glycogen
A form of stored glucose in the body, primarily found in the liver and muscles.
ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate)
The primary energy carrier in cells.
Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM)
A device used to measure glucose levels continuously throughout the day.
Insulin
A hormone produced by beta cells that helps lower blood glucose levels.
Glucagon
A hormone produced by alpha cells that raises blood glucose levels.
Euglycemia
A normal level of blood glucose.
Factors affecting blood glucose levels
Includes food intake, illness, exercise, stress, and hormones like insulin and glucagon.
