Epinephrine - Class
Sympathomimetic/ Vasopressor

Epinephrine - Mechanism of Action
Stimulates Alpha and Beta-Adrenegenic receptors Alpha-1 Beta-1 Beta-2

Epinephrine - Indications
Cardiac Arrest (Asystole, PEA, vFIB, vTACH) Anaphylaxis, Status Athsmaticus, Hypotension Refractory to TCP and Dopamine

Epinephrine - Contraindications
AMI, HTN, Hypovolemic Shock
Epinephrine - Adverse Reaction
HTN, Tachycardia, Increased Myocardial O2 Demand, Arrhythmias, Anxiety, Restlessness, Psychomotor Agitation, Angina

Epinephrine - Anaphylaxis
Adult: 0.3-0.5 mg 1:1000 IM every 10 mins max 0.9 mg
Peds: 0.01 mg/kg 1:1000 IM every 10 mins max 0.3 mg

Epinephrine - Anaphylactic Shock
Adult: 0.1 mg 1:10,000 slow IVP/IO

Epinephrine - Asthma
Adult: 0.3 mg 1:1000 IM may repeat once
Peds: 0.01 mg/kg 1:1000 IM max single dose 0.3 mg

Epinephrine - Cardiac Arrest
Adult: 1 mg 1:10,000 RIVP/IO q 3-5 mins
Peds: 0.01 mg/kg 1:10,000 RIVP q 3-5 mins
