Male Reproductive System
The system responsible for producing sperm cells in the testes and facilitating reproduction.
Testes
The male reproductive glands that produce sperm cells and hormones.
Epididymis
The tube where sperm mature and are stored after being produced in the testes.
Vas deferens
The duct that transports sperm from the epididymis to the ejaculatory duct.
Prostate gland
A gland that produces fluids that nourish and protect sperm and assist in urinary function.
Urethra
A hollow tube that transports urine from the bladder and sperm from the reproductive system.
Scrotum
A sac-like structure that houses the testes and helps regulate their temperature.
Penis
The organ used for urination and sexual intercourse that contains the urethra.
Sperm ducts
Ducts that carry sperm from the testes to the urethra.
Accessory glands
Glands that add fluids to sperm to aid in transport and nourishment.
Female Reproductive System
The system that produces eggs in the ovaries and supports fertilization and development of the embryo.
Ovary
The female reproductive organ that produces eggs and hormones.
Oviduct (Fallopian tube)
Tubes that transport eggs from the ovaries to the uterus.
Uterus
A muscular organ where a fertilized egg implants and develops into a baby.
Cervix
The muscular ring that connects the uterus to the vagina and opens during labor.
Vagina
The muscular tube that connects the cervix to the outside of the body.
Estrogen
A female sex hormone produced in the ovaries that regulates the menstrual cycle.
Endometrium
The inner lining of the uterus that thickens for pregnancy and sheds during menstruation.
Zygote
The diploid cell formed when a sperm cell fertilizes an egg cell.
Embryo
The developing organism from the zygote stage until it becomes a fetus.
