How were the Israelites different from most other ancient people in their thinking of their rulers and God?
Most ancient people thought of their gods as being connected to certain places or people.
The Israelites, however, believed that God is present everywhere. They believed that God knows everything and has complete power.
How were women treated under ancient Israelite law?
Some laws protected women.
Mothers were treated with respect.
Women had different duties than men.
