Brainstem

Medulla, pons, and midbrain to control circulation, digestion, breathing, and sends information upwards

Cerebellum

Right behind eyes, back of head, responsible for motor control, motor memory, and coordination

Thalamus

Router, sorts information and sends it to correct parts of the brain

Hypothalamus

above roof of mouth, below thalamus, regulates body temperature

Posterior pituitary

below hypothalamus, sends hormones for water balance and other things

Cerebrum

80% of brain, integration, makes sense of the data

Corpus collosum

connects right and left hemisphere of the brain

Basal ganglia

Made up of brain nuclei, below cerebral cortex, responsible for motor skills

Frontal love

emotional control, prefrontal cortex, etc.

Parietal lobe

sensation, neural and sensory input

somatosensory cortex

input of sensory information, located in parietal lobe

motor cortex

located in parietal lobe, sensory output (physical response)

attached to thalamus by third ventricle - produces and secretes the melatonin hormone
