I believe its looks like the baby has a condition nappy rash
in this conditon the baby’s skin very delicate, and when it is trapped inside a warm, damp nappy, the skin becomes soft and vulnerable. mixing it with found in pee and poo, it creates an irritating environment with friction that breaks down the skin's natural protective barrier. this is very common and has nothing to do with your parenting
this causes this red rash, that affects the areas that are incontact with the nappy, so it doesnt effect the spaces between the cheeks, doesnt have a defined border and tender
this can be used by irritation to wipes, new body washes, diarrhoea, acidic foods and reduced nappy changes
based on this what are you looking for in terms of treatment
NELT
based on preferences - i would recommend using a thick water repellent cream
this includes zinc oxide which will help to soothe the area, dimethicone which can is water resistance preventing excess moisture from disrupting the delicate skin surface
benzalkonium or chlorohexidine - which can help to prevent an infection
aliminum chlorohydrate - help to reduce the sweating and prevent the wetness
you want to apply a thick layer on bottom, at each nappy change
this product is usually quite well tolerated
if experiencing body, start to affect the skin folds - it would be fungal and come back and we can treat that using an antifungal, baby starts to have any bleeding, pus, crusting, fever, change in behaviour becoming sluggish i would recommend seeing the doctor.
in the future i would recommend using absorbent nappies instead, that would help to soak up the excess moisture, better if they have diarrhoea prevent damaging the skins barrier, i would also recommend using absorbent powder, which will also help to absorb powder, nappy free time to allow air exposure to the area prevent wetness, using soap substitute, dont disrupt the normal bacteria of the skin dont use fragrances as it can aggrevate and disrupt the normal flora
