What is the scientific study of plants known as?
Botany
What are the four major groups of plants?
Bryophytes, Pteridophytes, Gymnosperms, Angiosperms
What is double fertilization and what does it produce?
It results in a 2n zygote and 3n endosperm.
What are some requirements for plant growth?

What are the characteristics of plants?

Define Bryophytes.
Non-vascular plants that include mosses and require water for reproduction.
What are Gymnosperms?
Vascular seed plants with naked seeds, generally woody trees or shrubs.
What is the significance of Angiosperms?
They reproduce sexually by forming flowers and fruits, and are the dominant plants today.
What adaptations do Angiosperms have for survival?
Complex symbioses with fungi and bacteria, diverse leaf structures maximizing photosynthesis, and efficient transport tissues.
What is the role of plants in the environment?
They produce oxygen, serve as a source of food, provide shelter, and are used in medicine.
