Obsessions
Recurrent and persistent thoughts, urges, or images that are unwanted and intrusive
Compulsions
Repetitive behaviors or mental acts that an individual feels driven or compelled to perform in response to an obsession or according to rules that must be applied rigidly
More common sex in ocd

Diagnosing OCD
late childhood or adolescence; mixed obsession and compulsion usually; 1/3 of patients express stimulus triggers ritual and avoidance of the trigger will prevent or lessen the OCD symptom

2/3 of BDD is developed by age 18, onset is typical at age 12-13 yo; onset before 18 increases risk of suicide and comorbidities
Trichotillomania and Excoriation Disorders
can overlap with adhd (can be related to stimulant use)
