Complex Conjugates Theorem

Degree of a polynomial

the degree of the monomial with the greatest exponent

Polynomials in one variable

a polynomial containing only one variable

Leading coefficient

the coefficient of the term with the highest degree

Polynomial function

a polynomial equation used to represent a function

Relative maximum

occurs when the nearby points do not have a greater y-coordinate

Relative minimum

occurs when the nearby points do not have a lesser y-coordinate

Depressed polynomial

occurs when a polynomial is divided by one of its binomial factors (thisis the quotient)
