Acute Kidney Injury (AKI)
A rapid loss of kidney function resulting in impaired filtration and regulatory functions.
Urinalysis (UA)
A test that checks the urine's color, clarity, pH, specific gravity, and presence of cells, protein, glucose, and ketones.
Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System (RAAS)
A hormone system that regulates blood pressure and fluid balance in the body.
Upper Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs)
Infections that involve the kidneys and ureters, commonly resulting in pyelonephritis.
Neurogenic Bladder
A bladder dysfunction resulting from nervous system disorders that affects voiding ability.
Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)
A progressive loss of kidney function over time, classified into stages based on glomerular filtration rate (GFR).
Urinary Incontinence
Involuntary loss of urine, which can be caused by various factors including stress, urge, and overflow.
Urolithiasis
The presence of stones in the urinary tract, also known as kidney stones.
Cather-associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI)
A type of urinary tract infection that occurs in individuals with an indwelling catheter.
Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN)
A medical test that measures the amount of nitrogen in the blood from urea, indicating kidney function.
