Difference between DNA,genes,alleles
DNA is the whole instruction code, genes are pieces of DNA for traits, and alleles are different forms of a gene
What needs to happen to show the recessive trait
When the dominant trait is not present
Which trait would be more common, the dominant or recessive trait? Why?
Neither as it depends on how often the alleles are inherited in the population
Why is knowing about embryo development important? Use the dolphin as an example.
A dolphin embryo has early features similar to the other mammals, like limp buds, and a tail. As it grows, these become flippers and a swimming tail. This shows dolphins are mammals and related to other mammals. studying embryo is important because it helps how traits develop, how organisms changed before birth, and how different species are connected.
How does sexual reproduction lead to variation of the traits in a population?
Because offspring get half their genes from each parent. This creates new combinations of traits, making individuals in a population different from one another.
