Compulsory school attendance age
In the Czech Republic, school is required for children from the age of 6 to 15.
School year duration
Runs from 1st September to 30th June and is divided into two terms.
Evaluation marks
Pupils are graded from 1 to 5, where 1 is considered the best.
School report
A document received by pupils at the end of each term documenting their evaluations.
Primary schools

Grammar schools (gymnazium)
A type of secondary school that prepares students for university.

Maturita
The school-leaving exam taken at the end of secondary school.
School-Leaving Certificate
The credential students receive after successfully passing the maturita exam.
Tertiary education
Education provided by universities, typically lasting 4 to 6 years.
Charles University
The oldest university in Prague, founded in 1348.
University degrees
Academic qualifications including Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral degrees.
