Climate change

• Adapt to climate change → technology that reduces their environmental impact 

• How the PSH helps to meet this goal of needing to adapt to climate change is through selective harvesting → protects vulnerable species and smaller fish

• Supports long ter stock of fish populations 

• Maintain their supply as conditions could change to stricter fishing regulations around bycatch

Efficiently producing quality seafood: 

• Consistent rate as fish quality standards could increase 

• Continue prodicing quality fish bc less damage is being done to the fish which means less trimming or waste of the fish 

• Arrive damage = not being able to make maximum profit

• Not damaged = will be able to deliver the same high quality fish everyday, even as the demand grows 

Freshness

• Supermarkets expect the seafood stays fresh for longer to reduce waste 

• Fish start in a better physical condition 

• Spoil more slowly = travel further while still meeting freshness standards.
