Ballet Scene Script

Ballerina 1: Are you guys excited 

Ballerina 3: I am so excited this is what we have been waiting for 

Ballerina 1: I know I cannot believe the agent is here.. 

Ballerina 3: Stop do not worry you are going to do great, no doubt one of us are getting picked

Ballerina 1: We will be right beside you

Ballerina 3: You have been practicing this dance for months, you know them

Ballerina 1: Yeah, what's the worst that can happen?

Ballerina 3: Ok ladies, it is time

Ballerina 1: Last touch ups, can you pass the lipstick?

The lights go on and the three ballerinas take their position on stage 

Ballerina 1: we are going great, keep smiling

The girls continue dancing and Ballerina 2 slaps her arm and suddenly stumbles

Ballerina 1: (while still dancing) what is wrong?

Ballerina 2: it really hurts, my arm is burning and I feel really dizzy

Ballerina 1: Oh no I think your arm is swelling

Ballerina 2: I can't stand

Ballerina 1: (shouts to audience) We need help! Someone get help!

Ballerina 2 collapse into both arms

A doctor appears on the stage

Doctor: Everyone move out the way I know what to do 

checks pulse

Doctor: Good news is her heart is still beating, but she looks really pale I think we need to get her to the hospital immediately

Doctor leads ballerina 2 outside to go to the hospital 

Ballerina 1: Oh my Gosh I can not believe that just happened I hope she is ok.

Ballerina 3: me too I wonder what bite her, that is so weird that she got such a quick reaction like that

Ballerina 1: I guess we will just have to wait and see what the doctors say at the hospital..

The ballerinas continue their show without ballerina 2 

Ballerina 1: What the heck look at the audience. Why are they just sitting there…

Ballerina 3: They look so pale

Ballerina 1: why are they all just sitting there? No one is clapping?

The next day walking into ballet practice together:

Ballerina 1: Did you hear about what happened to Bianca

Ballerina 3: yeah, I can not believe she passed away I do not know what could have happened to her

Ballerina 1: I know it all happened so fast

Ballerina 3: I am going to miss her so much

Ballerina 1: Me Too

Ballerina 3: And it was so weird how after she got bit, everyone in the audience started to look just as pale as her.. And they were not moving. 

Ballerina 1: That was so weird.

Ballerina 3: have u noticed that there is like, not many people on the roads or streets? I am getting really concerned and when I went to the supermarket today, it was completely shut down

Ballerina 1: Now that you mention it, me too. I was wondering why it seemed so quiet today. Let’s just walk into practice and forget about it. (walks into class) Where is everyone??? Not even our ballet teacher is here.

Ballerina 3: Class must’ve been canceled today

Ballerina 1: Lets just relax for now and go on our phones and see if anyone shows up

Ballerina 3: Okay

Ballerina 1: Oh my gosh look at this…

Ballerina 3: What is it?

Ballerina 1:  It is a news article. Apparently there's a deadly disease going around and people are getting sick all over the city.

Ballerina 3: That must be why everyone isn't here today..

Ballerina 1: it says hospitals are full..streets are empty and they’re calling it a pandemic and it has a low survival rate…

Ballerina 3: What are the symptoms? 

Ballerina 1: dizziness, paleness, sore throat, headaches..

Ballerina 3: I wonder what could have caused all of this?

Ballerina 1: Wait.. those sound a lot like the symptoms ballerina 2 had..and then the audience members. Do you think that bug that bit her must have caused this and then spread to everyone? 

Ballerina 3: That actually makes sense. This is crazy. What are we gonna do? This cannot be real.

Ballerina 1: Wait, I actually am starting to feel really lightheaded right now, and my throat has been hurting since this morning. I thought I was just overthinking it but I'm not sure now.

Ballerina 3: What? You are probably just overwhelmed. 

Ballerina 1: No I am serious.

Ballerina 3: Here I have a seat.

Ballerina 1: (begins to stumble) I can’t.
