Clear pool now if necessary

Step 2 - Primary Survey (dABC)

LOC (Alert vs. confused vs. unconscious)

EMS +/- AED

Step 3 - Shock (O-WARTS)

Oxygen (And OPA if unconscious), Warmth, ABCs, Rest and reassurance, Treatment, Semi-prone or sitting

Step 4 - Secondary Survey (CHAMPL-PQRST)

History (CHAMPL)

Chief complaint, History of chief complaint, Allergies, Medical history/medications, Pain assessment (PQRST), Last meal eaten

Pain Assessment (PQRST)

Position, Quality, Radiating, Severity, Timing

Step 5 - Vital Signs (T-LOC-PRESS) & Head-to-toe

Time of day, LOC, Pulse (Rate and rhythm), Respirations (Rate and rhythm), Eyes, Skin colour, Skin temperature

Head-to-toe Assessment

Check for lumps, bumps and bruises, med-alert tags and bracelets, range of motion and secondary injuries
