Odysseus

Troy
The city that Odysseus fought against for ten years during the Trojan War.
Cicones
A group encountered by Odysseus; after raiding their city, he loses men due to being attacked.
Lotus-Eaters
A group of people who consume lotus flowers and forget their home, which leads to trouble for Odysseus's crew.
Cyclops
A one-eyed giant encountered by Odysseus; specifically, Polyphemus, who captures and eats some of Odysseus's men.
Aeolus
The keeper of the winds who gives Odysseus a bag of winds to help him sail home.
Laestrygonians
Cannibal giants that ambush Odysseus's fleet, destroying all ships except for one.
Circe
A witch who initially turns Odysseus’s men into pigs but later helps them on their journey.
Land of the Dead
The place where Odysseus visits the prophet Tiresias, seeking guidance on his journey home.
Sirens
Creatures whose songs lure sailors to their doom; Odysseus has his men plug their ears to avoid being enchanted.
Scylla
A monster that lives near Charybdis, which Odysseus’s men face on their voyage.
Charybdis
A whirlpool that poses a threat to Odysseus as he tries to navigate past it.
