Product promotional methods
All the activities that aim at increasing the demand for a good or service, including personal selling, advertising, publicity, and public relations.
Personal Selling
A method where a salesperson presents a commodity to prospective buyer(s) face to face with the aim of making sales.
Sales representative
Another title for a salesperson who informs prospective buyers about product features such as uses, quality, price, quantities, and efficiency.
Launching a new product
A circumstance where personal selling is appropriate because it requires significant awareness creation, persuasion, and convincing.
Tailored products
Goods designed to meet customer's specifications and varying tastes, such as cloth designs from a dressmaker, making personal selling an appropriate method.
Demonstration
An explanation of operations required for technical products, which is made possible through personal selling.
High value products
Items for which a seller may use personal selling to avoid the risk of losing the commodity compared to using other methods.
Sales force financing
The requirement for an organisation to afford the high cost of maintaining a team of sales representatives.
