Photosynthesis
The process by which green plants and some other organisms use sunlight to synthesize foods with the help of chlorophyll.
Chlorophyll
A green pigment found in plants that is responsible for the absorption of light to provide energy for photosynthesis.
Cellular Respiration
The process in which cells convert glucose and oxygen into energy, carbon dioxide, and water.
Glucose
A simple sugar that is an important energy source in living organisms.
ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate)
The primary energy carrier in cells, used in various biological processes to store and transport energy.
Ecosystem
A biological community of interacting organisms and their physical environment.
Biodiversity
The variety of life in the world or in a particular habitat or ecosystem.
Food Chain
A linear sequence of organisms through which nutrients and energy pass as one organism eats another.
Producers
Organisms, typically plants and algae, that produce their own food through photosynthesis.
Consumers
Organisms that consume other organisms for energy, including herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores.
