Rotational Kinetic Energy
The kinetic energy of an object due to its rotation, expressed as K_r = rac{1}{2} I heta^2.
Moment of Inertia (I)
A measure of an object's resistance to angular acceleration, calculated as I = extstylerac{ extstyle ext{sum of } m_ir_i^2}{ ext{distance from the axis of rotation}}.
Total Kinetic Energy
The sum of rotational and translational kinetic energies, expressed as K=Kt+Kr.
Translational Kinetic Energy (K_t)
The kinetic energy of an object due to its linear motion, expressed as K_t = rac{1}{2} M v_{CM}^2.
Angular Velocity (heta)
The rate of change of the angle with respect to time, typically denoted by heta.
Linear Velocity (v)
The speed of a point in a rotating object, given by the product of the radius and angular speed: vi=riheta.
