God tests Abraham's faith by asking him to sacrifice his son; Abraham obeys and God provides a ram instead.
Chosen people
The Israelites, descendants of Abraham, chosen by God to reveal His love and plan of salvation.

Understanding exactly what the words in the Bible say.
Original sin
The separation from God inherited because of Adam and Eve's disobedience in the Garden of Eden.
Moses
Leader who freed the Israelites from slavery in Egypt and received the Ten Commandments.

Religious truth, Moral truth, Historical truth, and Scientific truth.
3 theological virtues
Faith, Hope, and Love (Charity).

Faith
Belief and trust in God and His teachings.
Inerrancy
The belief that the Bible is free from error in matters concerning salvation and religious truth because it is inspired by God.
Abraham
Father of the Jewish people with whom God made a covenant.
Burning bush
The medium through which God appeared to Moses, burning without being consumed, to call him to free the Israelites.
Covenant
A sacred promise between God and His people.
First five books of the Old Testament
Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy.
The Beatitudes
Blessings shared by Jesus, such as 'Blessed are the poor in spirit' and 'Blessed are the peacemakers'.

New Testament writing duration
About 50 years (approximately 50 AD–100 AD).
