What is color Box/ what should it not be?
vessel must be at an angle with respect to the Doppler beam. Vessel should not be horizontal/straight across the image
What direction should the box be steer or heel toe to?
Box must be steered in the same direction as the path of the vessel.
Can also heel-toe the transducer to create angle.
Heel-toe
A transducer movement technique used to create an angle between the ultrasound beam and the vessel for better color visualization.
A pretty image is ?
when the vessel is uniformly filled with color.
What to do if the vessel is curvy
You put the box straight, which naturall curviness of the vessel is what create angles
What are the ways to steer
Right, left , up and down
What does color map mean?
Color actually indicate direction of blood flow with respect to the Doppler beam? -reference point
What is the direction of the color map
Top color is toward ⬅inferior
Bottom color is away➡ superior
Away (Color Map)
Indicated by the bottom color on the color map, representing blood flow moving away from the Doppler beam.
What is Color Gain?
Just like 2d gain, but for color.
Color should fill vessel, but not “bleed out “ into surroundings tissues.

what is color bleed
Going beyond the vessel wall
What is Color Scale?
Determine the range of velocities to be displayed.
Which will be different based on exam preset.

What is this consider as?
Aliasing- A visual artifact that occurs when the color scale is set too low for the velocities of the blood flow being measured.
High Color Scale (Effect)
A condition where no color jet is visible because the velocity range is set too high relative to the blood flow.
Optimal Color Scale
The velocity range setting that accurately captures flow without excessive aliasing or loss of signal.
Doppler Reference Point
A key anatomical or procedural location used during concept exercises to assign color via the color map and determine flow direction.
What direction does Common Cartoid artery goes? Towards what ? What angle with it will be going?
It goes superior( towards the heads)
It points this way ⬅
What directions does the femoral artery goes?
Towards what ? Which way the arrow will be pointing
Inferior towards your feet
Pointing this ➡
Which directions is the IJV( internal jugular vein) going
Inferior (It drains your head)
Arrow pointing ➡
Common femoral vein
Superior (Drain your leg )
Arrow going ⬅
