Take on the perspective of a catechumen! Write a "journal entry" explaining why you are pursuing the RCIA and desire Baptism. Incorporate knowledge of the meaning and purpose of the sacrament. The tone should be personal. Approximately 2 hearty paragraphs.
I have been reflecting deeply on my journey of faith, and I feel called to pursue Baptism through the RCIA process. As I learn more about the Catholic Church, I am drawn to the meaning of Baptism as more than just a ritual. It is the beginning of a new life. Through Baptism, I will be freed from sin and reborn as a child of God, which is something I truly desire. The idea of being fully united with Christ and becoming part of His Church gives me a sense of purpose and belonging that I have been searching for.
I am especially moved by how Baptism connects to the Paschal Mystery, dying and rising with Christ. This symbolizes leaving behind my old life and stepping into a new one filled with grace. I want to receive sanctifying grace and grow in faith, hope, and charity as I continue my journey. RCIA is not just about learning facts but about transformation, and I am ready to commit to that lifelong process of growing closer to God and living out His mission.
