Are animal and plant cells, eukaryotic or prokaryotic
Eukaryotic
What is a nucleus
Contains genetic material which controls the cell’s activities
What is a cytoplasm
Gel like substance where chemical reaction happens. It contains enzymes which control these reactions
What is cell membrane
Holds the cell together and controls what goes in and out of the cell
What is the mitochondria
Where most of the reactions of aerobic respiration take place. Respiration transfers energy that the cell needs to work
What is the ribosome
Site of protein synthesis, found in the cytoplasm
What is the permanent vacuole
Contains cell sap- a weak solution of salts and sugars
What is the cell wall
Rigid, made out of cellulose, it supports and strengthens the cell
What is the chloroplast
Where photosynthesis place, which makes food for the plant. They contain a green pigment called cholophyll, which absorbs the light needed for photosynthesis
