What role do you play in agriculture?

Although I didn’t grow up directly involved in agriculture, I’ve come to understand how important it is to our communities, economy, and daily lives. My role is being someone who values and supports the people who make agriculture possible, while continuing to learn about sustainability, food production, and the challenges farmers face. Agriculture impacts everyone, so I believe we all have a responsibility to appreciate and advocate for it.

What role does the county fair play in supporting agriculture?

Vermillion county fair especially is extremely devoted to its agricultural roots. Exhibits such as the interactive ag barn and livestock shows really show how vermillion county cherishes and prides itself in agriculture.

How can agriculture become more sustainable?

I think agriculture can become more sustainable by combining tradition with innovation. Farmers today are already working hard to protect the land through practices like crop rotation, soil conservation, precision technology, and responsible water use. Sustainability is important because agriculture doesn’t just feed us today — it also has to support future generations.

What qualities make a good fair queen?

Someone who is kind, curious, and professional makes a great fair queen. As a representative of your county, people are matching you with the community you represent. When at public events, I think these are the traits that would represent Vermillion County best.
