-Ketosis due to not eating enough nutrients in the end stage of pregnancy

Hypomagnesemia

- low magnesium levels due to feeding on lush grass

Excess copper causes hemolysis in the sheep's blood

epididymitis: brucella ovis

-umbilical chord allows entry of bacteria into systemic circulation

- treat with antibiotics, sanitations, supportive care

- prevention, dip navel in 7% iodine

entropion

-eyelashes turn inward

-cut eylid to exert or inject penacilin

urolithiasis

urinary calculi: stones

-too much phosphorus in relation to calcium

-CS: straining to urinate, kicking at abdomen, hematruia

- treatment: ammonium chloride - change pH, cut off "pizzle"

polioencephalomalcia

-Dz of CNS - brain becomes inflamed and swollen then necrotic

- shift in thiaminase producing bacteria in rumen

- CS: depression, ataxia, stiffness, "star gazing", death

-treatment - thiamin (B1) supplements

coccidiosis

-overgrowth of coccidia in animal, causes scours

-major sanitation issue

-CS: early: anorexia and mild idarrhea, later: bloody diarrhea

-treatment, neonates can have oral TMS/SMS, adults: corid

-prevention: environmental contamination, elevate food/water from ground
