what are the 3 marks worth of AO1 for Asch’s study?

  • Tested 125 male US undergrads in lab experiment using a line judgement task where Ps matched standard line to one of 3 comparison lines (3 comparison lines were all obvious diff lengths)

  • Each P placed in group with confeds and answered out loud, with real P answering second to last

  • On 12 of 18, confeds gave incorrect answer, conformity was 36.8% (in 12 critical), compared to about 1 % in a control group
