Lymphatic System
A network of tissues and organs that help rid the body of toxins, waste, and other unwanted materials.
Lymph Node
A small, bean-shaped structure that is part of the lymphatic system; it filters lymph and houses immune cells.
Types of Immunity
Various mechanisms by which the body defends itself against pathogens; can be innate or adaptive.
Innate Immunity
The natural, non-specific defense mechanisms that are present at birth.
Adaptive Immunity
The immunity that develops as a result of exposure to pathogens, involving a memory response.
