German philosopher who was famous for his political theories, such as socialism. Created terminology such as Bourgeoisie and Proletariat. Defined classes based on their relation to the means of production. Characterized the election of Louis Napoleon as a coup by the peasants.

Son of Louis Bonaparte, was elected in a landslide in he election of 1848. Many of his voters were peasants who wanted to disempower the Bourgeoisie. Orchestrated the Napoleonic restoration and founded the second french empire in 1852.
