TQL Knowledge Test
A 10-minute test on the 3PL Industry and TQLโs business model, including winning principles and modes of transportation.
States Test
A 10-minute assessment involving locating all 50 states on a blank map given their 2-letter abbreviations.
Math Test
A 20-minute, 10-question assessment focused on industry-specific math problems; calculators are provided.
Eastern Standard Schedule
M-F, 7:45amโ5:15pm.
Central Standard Schedule
M-F, 6:45amโ4:15pm.
Mountain Standard Schedule
M-F, 5:45amโ3:15pm.
Pacific Standard Schedule
M-F, 4:45amโ2:15pm.
Flatbed
A truck type with a haul weight of 48,000lbs used for construction material, lumber, and large machinery.
Dry Van
A truck type with a haul weight of 45,000lbs used for clothing, nonperishables, and home goods.
Refrigerated Van (Reefer)
A truck type with a haul weight of 42,500lbs used for frozen chicken, produce, and temperature sensitive chemicals.
Shipper
A customer with freight that needs to be shipped.
Carrier
A truck that picks up and delivers the freight.
Margin
The difference between what the shipper pays and what the carrier charges (Shipperย RateโCarrierย Rate).
Commodity
General term for the freight being shipped.
Maximum Gross Weight
The total weight of any tractor trailer cannot exceed 80,000lbs.
DOT On-duty Limit
A driver can be on-duty for a maximum of 14hrs.
DOT Driving Limit
A driver can drive a maximum of 11hrs.
DOT Off-duty Requirement
A driver must take 10 consecutive hours off.
Logistics Account Executive (LAE) Commission
LAEs receive 25% of the margin for each load they negotiate between a shipper and carrier.
Price Per Mile
Calculated by dividing the carrier rate by the total miles (Carrierย Rate/Miles).
