Describe the successes and failures of Hernando de Soto's exploration of the New World.
-When he explored, he was unable to find any gold. His contingent of men (700) spread disease to the Native Americans. He also captured American Indians- made them serve as tour guides on his quest for gold. De Soto died and was buried by his men in the Mississippi River.
