conformity
Complying with social pressures.
chameleon effect

normative social influence
Influence resulting from a person's desire to gain approval or avoid disapproval.

Solomon Asch conformity experiment

Milgram experiment
A study investigating obedience, where participants were willing to administer shocks to others under the instruction of an authority figure.
bystander effect
The phenomenon where individuals are less likely to help a victim when other people are present.
groupthink
A psychological phenomenon where the desire for harmony in a group results in irrational or dysfunctional decision-making.
dissonance
