My 1-2 sentence summary of conditions that I come across

gout

very painful (sudden) form of arthritis caused when your body has extra uric acid resulting in painful joint swelling

uric acid nephropathy

deposition of uric acid crystals in kidney interstitium and tubules resulting in partial or complete obstruction of collecting ducts, renal pelvis, or uteter

• different from gout?

• what is the difference between primary and secondary?

uric renal calculi

hard object made from chemicals in the urine (i.e uric acid stone or kidney stone)

stable angina

chest pain/discomfort usually cased by emotional stress or activity

Non-valvular atrial fibrillation

type of irregular heart rhythm that occurs in absence of significant heart valve disease or an artificial heart valve. Involves disorganized electrical signals in the atria which may lead to a fast or erratic heartbeat

venous thromboembolism (VTE)

occurs when a blood clot forms in a vein (includes DVT and PE)

rheumatoid arthritis

chronic condition causing pain, swelling, irritation, and inflammation of the joints (may damage skin, eyes, lungs, heart, and blood vessels)

osteoarthritis

occurs when protective cartilage that cushions the ends of bones wears down overtime

atherothrombotic events

when a blood clot forms as a result of atherosclerosis (thickening/hardening of arterties)

Acute coronary syndrome (ACS)

heart muscle stops receiving blood

Atrophic vaginitis

irritation of the vagina normally caused by thinning tissues or decreased moisture

Dispareunia

persistent genital pain before, during, or after intercourse

Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT)

very fast/erratic heartbeat affecting the upper chambers of the heart

postherpetic neuralgia

pain after shingles
