Suspended Load
Small grains (silt and clay) that swirl in the water column without settling on the bed of the stream
Bed Load
Large particles (sand gravel) that bounce or roll along the bed of the stream
Dendritic Drainage System
Usually dendritic
Recurrence Interval
Average number of years between floods of a given size
Annual Probability
Likelihood that a flood of a given size will happen in a year
Annual Probability Calculation
Calculated by annual = 1/recurring interval
