→useful tool for delivering information to the public in a way that sticks in their heads
→higher social function, raising awareness about a certain topic will be more meaningful and provide greater sense of purpose
→provide people with a sense of understanding, relief, validation
→regarded as prestigious as work contributes towards progressive development of society

ideally, theatre should be both entertaining + educational.
→audience is honouring u with their time, its important you give them something to think about, while keeping them angaged in your show
