Super's Developmental Model

Growth Stage

Exploration Stage

Maintenance Stage
The fourth stage (ages 45-65) that prioritizes retaining achieved career status and protecting security, with less focus on advancement.
Decline Stage
The final stage (ages 65+) where work activity decreases as retirement approaches.
Workaholism
An excessive dedication to work, characterized by behaviors like sacrificing personal life, experiencing high job satisfaction, yet potentially leading to burnout.
Enthusiastic Workaholic
A workaholic who enjoys their work and derives joy from it, often performing well in high-demand positions.
Unenthusiastic Workaholic
A workaholic driven to work but with lower job satisfaction and life satisfaction, more susceptible to burnout.
